Renting a car is of some importance during your stay in Eastern Algarve if you want to see everything the area has to offer. Below are the prices of a good local rental company. They will ensure that your car is ready for you at Faro airport and will help you on your way to Casa Verdazul in no time. Thus you avoid having to join the long lines that usually stand at the major rental companies. Upon departure, you can leave the car at the airport. Rental conditions<\/h3>\n

Minimum age<\/h4>\n

23 years old, holding a valid driver’s license for more than 1 year.<\/p>\n

Prices include<\/h4>\n

Insurance CDW; unlimited mileage; governmental tax; airport tax, 23% VAT, delivery and collection to and from Faro or Lisbon airport.<\/p>\n

Extras<\/h4>\n

Baby- of child seat (please request in advance): \u20ac 5,- per day
\nExtra driver: \u20ac 20,- per rental
\nGPS-system: \u20ac 12,- per day
\nSurcharge for extra early or extra late arrival\/departure (between 00:00 and 07:00): \u20ac 40,-
\nDrop off at other airports: upon request<\/p>\n

A creditcard (Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard of Diners Club) is required. American Express Cards are not accepted. The client must have a valid driver’s license and passport or ID-card.<\/p>\n

For a rental period of less than 7 days, starting at Faro airport and ending elsewhere or vice versa, an additional surcharge applies for delivery and collection. The amount of the surcharge depends on the distance. Minimum hire period \/ charge is 3 days.<\/p>\n

The above prices are only valid for reservations made at least 7 days before the start of the rental period.<\/p>\n

For reservations made less than 7 days before the rental period, the normal local prices apply.<\/p>\n

The price for 3 days is half the weekly price. The rent for 4, 5 or 6 days is calculated after the 3-day period. The rent for more than 7 days will be calculated after the 7-day price.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clients are not allowed to travel to Spain without a previous authorization (quotation will be given accordingly)<\/p>\n

Fuel policy: cars delivered 1\/4 full should be returned 1\/4 full, otherwise the client will be charged for the difference (no refunds).<\/p>\n

Roof racks are not permitted on any cars.<\/p>\n

Insurance excess<\/h4>\n

The excess (= the amount of client’s maximum responsibility for damages occurred during the car rental) can be covered by an extra SCDW insurance (7 days minimum charge).<\/p>\n

Class A and C: \u20ac 1300,-; insurance \u20ac 15,- per day
\nClass D, H, E and F: \u20ac 1500,-; insurance \u20ac 17,- per day
\nClass G, L en X: \u20ac 2000,-; insurance \u20ac 20,- per day
\nGPS: \u20ac 150,-; insurance not available
\nElectronic Toll Device: \u20ac 50,-; insurance not available<\/p>\n

Not included<\/strong> with SCDW is: driver’s negligence, lost or broken keys, destroyed tires, broken windows and driving under influence.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese highway and electronic toll Via Verde<\/h4>\n

All vehicles are equipped with the Via Verde system. This allows clients to use all highways, automatic toll and the carparks at Faro, Lisbon and Porto airports. This system costs \u20ac 20,-, of which \u20ac 15,- can be used by circulation on these roads and on the carparks. If the \u20ac 15,- is exceeded, the surplus will be charged on the credit card.
\nIn case a client does not want to use the system, they have to inform the rental company. Please make sure to not use these roads at all. After the car has been returned, the rental company will confirm there was no circulation on these roads and will refund the \u20ac 20,-. In case of usage there are no refunds and the calculation of all costs can take maximum 20 days after the finishing of the rental.<\/p>\n
